Hardware upgrade complete: faster NVMe nodes across the network

Over the past few weeks we migrated every server on the network to new NVMe-backed hosting nodes. The short version: chunk loading and world saves are noticeably quicker, and we've got more headroom for the servers still in the pipeline.

Why it mattered

The previous nodes were fine for a single server, but as the network grew — more concurrent players, more world data, more frequent backups — disk I/O became the actual bottleneck, not CPU or RAM. Autosaves and chunk generation were the first places anyone would notice lag spikes.

What changed

Every world now lives on NVMe storage instead of spinning or SATA SSD storage. In practical terms: fewer hitches during autosave, faster world generation on the edge of explored terrain, and quicker restarts after maintenance windows.

Uptime

We're currently sitting at 99.9% uptime over the last 30 days on the infrastructure side, ahead of the Minecraft Network's public launch — updates land first in Discord.

What's next

This upgrade was also about making room for what's coming — the servers currently in the pipeline (Terraria, Garry's Mod, Marvel Rivals community infrastructure) will run on the same upgraded hosting once they're ready to launch.
